3/21/2023 0 Comments Console vault![]() ![]() ![]() I'm saying that if one does and I happen to have valuables inside of there I want a safe that is actually secure and difficult to break open and remove from the vehicle. A criminal will likely never break into your car or truck. Look the odds are that your stuff will never be stolen. They bend, break and are fairly easily pulled apart.ĥ) These were all things told to me by a guy convicted of car burglary who was trying to give me some advice on how to not get my stuff stolen. Consoles are plastic.fairly cheap plastic. Would advise to look at other options.ġ) Anyone with a console safe isn't leaving a wad of cash or a gun in the glovebox.Ģ) Who is leaving wads of cash and guns in a gloveboxģ) A quick shake will tell you if anything is inside once you pry it openĤ) Those console safes really don't take much time to take out of a vehicle. Yep, my buddy had his ripped out as well. Thankfully in two of the cases the safes were empty. Heard the alarm and by the time they got outside the thief was gone and so was their safe. I have known a few people who had theirs ripped out. My absolute last choice would be a console safe. I know that isn't ideal but it is still better than nothing. My next choice would be a safe that has a cable lock to secure it somewhere. Likely it would require drilling through the floor but would provide some piece of mind knowing that it isn't going anywhere. You could also look into a safe that you could simply mount under a seat. Several of those also have options to secure them to the seatbelt secure points underneath. I know there are several options that go under the rear seat and can accommodate shotguns and rifles. There aren't many that I have seen that mount under the front seat of a truck. It took a while to do it and unless a thief is carrying around that specific socket size and has a few minutes they aren't going to be able to get in there very easy. I had to remove the seat bolts, lift the seat and then reattach the seat. I have a safe mounted under the seat in my Heep. Consoles can be removed or smashed apart usually in under a minute and opened later some place where they have more time to crack them open. ![]()
